Shahram Azar, born in 1957 in Abadan, Iran, showed early musical talent, playing keyboard in local youth organizations. After music studies in Tehran, he collaborated with notable singers like Nooshafarin. Post-1979 revolution, Azar composed for Iranian TV, then moved to Germany in 1984. There, he formed Sandy Ensemble, blending Western and Southern Iranian styles, notably with "Ahvazi Girl". A pioneer in Iranian music, Azar introduced rap with "Go Baba" in 1988, addressing social issues. Collaborating with EBI, he influenced Iranian concert styles. Azar moved to the U.S. in 1998, continuing as a prominent singer-composer, especially with Sandy.
